Director of Business Development — Enterprise Events
Entire Productions is looking for a Director of Business Development who excels at opening doors, building relationships, and winning new enterprise business.
This role develops profitable new corporate relationships across Event Production, Entertainment, and Destination Management (DMC), with an emphasis on complex event production and DMC programs.
The primary responsibility is new\-client acquisition. Once a client transitions successfully, Event Operations and Account Management own ongoing service and delivery, allowing this role to stay focused on developing new business.
Our target clients are enterprise and high\-growth organizations with recurring event portfolios, including at least one annual event with a budget of $1 million or more and multiple additional events with budgets of $100,000 or more. These portfolios may include conferences, sales kickoffs, product launches, executive meetings, employee experiences, and customer events.
**What You'll Do**
* Prospect and develop net\-new corporate clients through outbound outreach, networking, referrals, LinkedIn, industry events, and creative relationship building.
* Identify and build relationships with decision\-makers in events, marketing, employee experience, executive administration, meetings, procurement, and related functions.
* Research enterprise target accounts, map decision\-makers and stakeholders, and develop a tailored approach to opening each relationship.
* Generate qualified opportunities across Entire Productions' Event Production, Entertainment, and Destination Management (DMC) services.
* Lead credible discovery conversations about event objectives, budgets, scope, buying processes, decision authority, and timing.
* Build and maintain a qualified enterprise pipeline that supports long sales cycles and profitable growth.
* Navigate RFPs, procurement processes, multiple stakeholders, and extended buying cycles to advance opportunities.
* Attend networking and industry events and actively build relationships in the corporate events community.
* Partner with creative, production, and operations teams to develop proposals, scope engagements, and protect profitability as budgets and requirements evolve.
* Maintain accurate opportunities, contacts, activities, and next steps in Salesforce.
* Transition newly won clients to Production and Account Management with clear expectations, relationship history, and documented commitments; retain focus on acquiring new clients.
**What We're Looking For**
This role requires established knowledge of the corporate events ecosystem and demonstrated success generating business through your own outreach.
* At least 5 years of experience selling complex event production, experiential marketing, destination management, corporate meetings/events, or closely related agency services.
* A track record of personally opening enterprise accounts from scratch through outbound prospecting and relationship development.
* Demonstrated ability to generate opportunities independently of inbound leads or an inherited book of business.
* Confidence engaging Directors and VPs of Events, procurement teams, and other senior enterprise decision\-makers.
* Understanding of how six\- and seven\-figure corporate events are budgeted, scoped, purchased, and awarded.
* Experience navigating RFPs, procurement requirements, multiple stakeholders, and long sales cycles.
* Strong written and verbal communication, with the credibility to lead discovery with experienced corporate event professionals.
* Disciplined follow\-up, accurate Salesforce records, and reliable pipeline forecasting.
* Accountability for pipeline, revenue, and profitability goals.
* Working knowledge of production budgets, AV, creative, venues, labor, fabrication, logistics, food and beverage, entertainment, DMC services, agency fees, and scope changes.
* Persistence, sound judgment, and ownership of results.
Experience winning $250,000–$1 million\+ engagements and developing Fortune 500 or comparable enterprise relationships is especially valuable. Hands\-on event production experience is not required, but entertainment\-only or hotel\-catering\-only sales experience does not meet the complex event\-sales requirement.
**What Success Looks Like**
Success is measured against a $3 million annual new\-business revenue quota at full ramp, supported by a 12\-month ramp that reflects enterprise sales cycles.
* First 90 days: establish priority accounts, engage decision\-makers, and build qualified opportunities.
* By six months: develop a substantial qualified pipeline, working toward 3–4 times annual quota coverage.
* By 12 months: secure meaningful booked or contracted revenue and establish a credible path to a $3 million annual revenue run rate.
* At full ramp: maintain approximately $9 million–$12 million in qualified pipeline, calibrated to actual win rates and sales\-cycle length.
* Win first\-time enterprise clients with recurring event portfolios and introduce them to relevant Entire Productions service lines.
* Generate profitable net\-new revenue and ensure a successful handoff to Production and Account Management.
Ultimately, this role has a simple mandate:
Create business that didn't exist before.
